On the outskirts of Ikeja, Lagos laid one of the infamous,
but rather famous schools in the City of Lagos, His Majesty International
College, which served as an educational center for young teenagers who were yet
inconclusive on the insights of life, and had yet to experience the life the
average people referred to as “The Life of the Targets”.
His Majesty International College was known widely for its
“outer and inner beauty and eminence”, at least it was known for that before
its Founder, Mrs. Laura Brown passed away. Only then
did the once impending corruption resurface.
The new owner, Mr. Damian Ihenna was known as an
uptight, yet corrupt leader. He was known for his greed in
financial circumstances; a never contented man who could murder anyone who got
in his way, just to lay his filthy hands on already filthy money. Though
he was ordained an Elder in church just to make him regain his senses and
eradicate his greed, that didn’t help at all, his greed only worsened to the
extent of his fighting over finances in church.
Nonetheless, Parents, Teachers and Students paid no
attention to the corruption eating up the school.
It was this ‘prestigious’ school that Joel Iregbor, a
teenager, apparently Seventeen (17) year old, and in his final year in college,
attended. The second and only male child among his other two
siblings, Mercy and Celyn, he was a nerd and known as a boring and anti-social
genius, exhibiting an isolated and lonely attitude, he was on top of his school
and had also won awards at educational competitions, chemistry, mathematics and
its likes.
He was known to relate to no one except his immediate
younger sister, Celyn in school, which was also hard to see, and at home he
kept to himself, sleeping and reading most of the time, unless he was forced
out by his parents. Though he was a nerdy teenager, and really
anti-social, he was still an outstanding and extraordinary one with impeccable
performances at home and abroad.
